Silvia Duarte-Sanmiguel
Research & Development Director Neucore Bio
Dr. Silvia Duarte-Sanmiguel is the Research and Development Director at Neucore Bio, a biotechnology company focused on engineered exosome platforms for genetic medicine. Her work centers on developing non-viral delivery systems for RNA-based therapeutics targeting neurological and neuromuscular disorders. She has helped lead projects advancing fibroblast-derived engineered extracellular vesicles (eEVs) for diseases such as Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease Type 1A (CMT1A). At Neucore Bio, Duarte-Sanmiguel collaborates with researchers at The Ohio State University to translate next-generation exosome therapies toward clinical applications.
Seminars
- Implementing robust labelling and detection strategies (e.g., fluorescent, radioactive, or molecular tagging) to enable accurate in vivo tracking of exosome fate
- Addressing methodological challenges including signal dilution, label stability, and distinguishing free label from intact vesicles
- Correlating biodistribution profiles with pharmacodynamic effects to inform dosing, safety assessment, and tissue targeting strategies
