Wanjun Chen

Dr. Wanjun Chen is a Senior Investigator and Chief of the Mucosal Immunology Section at the National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR). His research focuses on immune tolerance, regulatory T cells, and the role of TGF-beta signaling in autoimmunity, cancer, and infectious diseases. Chen earned his M.D. and M.S. in microbiology and immunology in China and completed postdoctoral training in immunology at Harvard Medical School. He is widely recognized for discoveries showing how TGF-beta induces regulatory T cells, advancing the development of potential immunotherapies for inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
